This is our 'home from home' which we have kitted
out far in excess of a normal 'rental' property, so we thought long
and hard whether we wanted to rent it out. Our thinking being that
we in no way wanted to run a business or make a profit by having
it full all the time - that would just put too much wear and tear
on the property and we would spend much of our time when we were
using it, doing running repairs.
Our end decision was to rent it out for 8 - 10 weeks per year -
maximum. This rental income would cover our apartment block maintenance
charges, water charges, electricity bills and taxes - basically
our annual running costs. Also, we would charge a very reasonable
rate per week, hoping this would encourage our guests to look after
the property as we do.
Our rental costs per week are:

Prices include all linen, towels and cleaning at the end of each
stay.
